Born in Liverpool, England, Samantha Humphreys  is currently lecturing in Writtle University College, Essex on the Art and the Environment course.  Her own art practice explores identity and in particular the boundary between the physical and online presence.  Her work has been motivated by memory, variations to the state of mind and the conscious and unconscious blurring of the line between work and play. More recently, since the Covid-19 pandemic,  Samantha has been focusing on how creativity can facilitate good mental health and wellbeing and is running a series of workshops to explore this subject.
